Welcome to KnittingNewsCast.com – a knitting web resource

My name is Rhonda Bell and I’m a knitter. I started knitting in 2005 and immediately fell in love with it. I really enjoy the act of forming loops with needles that create the knitted fabric. I love knitting hats, socks, scarves, and sweaters.

I started KnittingNewsCast.com back in December 2006 when I started producing one of the first knitting podcasts called Knitting News Cast. Each episode I would cover knitting news, reviews of knitting books, reviews of yarn, and other aspects of the knitting world, online and off. I would spend many hours putting each episode together. There was a lot of research and post-editing that went into each show. Usually, it would take a whole weekend or more to get the podcast done. As time went by, I found that I was spending more time on the podcast then I was on knitting. So I discontinued the podcast and went back to enjoying knitting as my hobby.

I’m a computer programmer by day (it is how I pay for my yarn obsession!) and I love combining my love for knitting with computer technology. I created a Wrist Warmer Knitting Pattern generator. It generates a custom wrist warmer knitting pattern based on your wrist measurement, gauge, and needle size. The pattern knits up quick and best of all you get the perfect fit using any yarn you like.

It is my current vision for the Knitting News Cast website to be an online resources for knitters. I want to continue to provide knitting news and reviews of books, patterns, yarns, and websites. I’ve also created a Yarn Store Directory and a listing of Free Knitting Patterns.
